NVIDIA Releases GeForce 8 Series PhysX Drivers
Tuesday August 12, 2008

Since NVIDIA first announced it had purchased PhysX, gamers have been waiting with anticipation for NVIDIA to release drivers to enable physics processing on the GPU. Today, NVIDIA finally delivered the drivers that enable PhysX physics processing on its high-end 8 series GeForce GPU's. NVIDIA says that its PhysX technology is already being used in more than 140 games shipping for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii.
NVIDIA says physics processing on NVIDIA GeForce 8 series and higher GPUs is able to handle 10 to 20 times more visual complexity than what's possible on today's traditional PC platforms. NVIDIA also points out that its PhysX technology can leverage both the CPU and GPU architectures to deliver ultimate performance and an ideal end-user experience.
NVIDIA says 20 top-tier PC titles are expected to ship before the year-end holiday season for the PC that take advantage of PhysX technology on NVIDIA GPUs. With full games that take advantage of PhysX technology on the GPU not available at this time, NVIDIA has offered gamers a glimpse at what they'll get with full game titles with free software downloads. External storage is a very common addition to a computer and a necessary item to protect data from loss in the event of a computer crash. Different types of external storage work well for different needs. Available removable storage options include external hard drives, flash drives, and hard drive enclosures. The Rosewill RX81-MP-SC-SLV External SATA Hard Drive Enclosure offers every connectivity option users will need for interfacing with a modern computer system. Friday August 8, 2008

At some point most Windows computer users will have a crash or need some sort of disaster recovery. The problem is that when the time comes for disaster recovery, many computer users will realize that they never made Windows recovery disks.
Kingston and Symantec have announced a new product called the Kingston DT400 Symantec Pocket Disaster Recovery Kit. The Kingston DataTraveler flash drive is pre-loaded with Symantec Recovery Disk software to aid in recovery after a system failure.
The Symantec software gives access to full Windows operating system command functionality to allow users access to Windows disk tools and network utilities. Symantec also equips the drive with pcAnywhere to allow remote access to a computer that has crashed. The DT400 Symantec Pocket Recovery Disk is available in three different capacities -- 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB. The drives are available now for $19, $36, and $67 respectively.

The Logitech diNovo Edge for Windows based computers has been around for a long time now. I have used the diNovo Edge and it is a fantastic general use keyboard. Mac users will be glad to hear that Logitech has announced a Mac version of the diNovo Edge keyboard.
The Mac edition of the Edge has the same basic features of the earlier version -- including a super-thin 0.5-inch profile. The top of the keyboard is made from a single piece of Plexiglas. The wrist support is made from brushed aluminum and the keyboard features a TouchDisc that allows navigation on the computer like a mouse.
